Shana Tova! Happy New Year 5785!
Shalom from Jerusalem, dear friends! The “Katzir Rav” movement wishes you a happy upcoming Biblical year 5785! Rosh Hashanah (Head of the Year), also called the Feast of Trumpets in the Bible, marks the first of the Lord’s fall festivals. “Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O Lord, in the light of Your countenance” (Psalm 89:15).
In Jewish tradition, the trumpet blast traditionally announced sacred assemblies, military advances and victory celebrations, and the approach of a king – which reminds us of and heralds the imminent return of the King of kings, our Lord Yeshua the Messiah!
This festival is also closely tied to Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement), which reminds us that God has already redeemed us through His precious sacrifice – the Blood of His Son. “For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified” (Hebrews 10:14). This is a time for us to repent to one another, to seek forgiveness, and to pray for those who haven’t yet found salvation, as forgiveness is the greatest act of love.
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).
Dear friends, we pray that you remember the power of our Lord’s redemption, and we hope that the Lord’s light continues to shine in your hearts, lives, families, and ministries. Above all, may you hear the trumpet call and teach those around you to recognize it as well, for the greatest revelation is knowing the Father!
