Home Groups
“And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.” (Acts 5:42)
Full-fledged, strong home groups are a full-fledged, healthy, growing church. It is in small circles that we are able to open up most in front of each other, to immerse ourselves in the Word of God, and to learn to live by the Word and to grow spiritually. Besides that, in a small circle, we learn to accept each other and to treat each other with love, regardless of others’ views and opinions.
One of the main goals of home groups is the soul healing of Christians and their strengthening in the knowledge of God. Leaders of the groups have a particular responsibility—to allow the Holy Spirit to minister through them to the people entrusted to them and to instruct them through the Word with God’s wisdom. That is why certain requirements are placed on the leaders of home groups: they should have a close relationship with God, and they should intercede and pray for the people entrusted to them.
It is very important that new people in the church become part of such home groups, where in a free and friendly environment they would receive answers to their questions, learn the basic Biblical truths, and pray in agreement with friends, brothers, and sisters about issues on a personal level.
Also, the goal of home groups is to explain the principal vision of the church, which allows us to be one-minded and to move in one direction.
It is in home groups that gifts, talents, and callings of people are revealed, as the very atmosphere of fellowship in a home group differs greatly from a church meeting. If in church meetings we listen more, in home groups there is a great deal more talking and fellowshipping.
