Hanukkah Festive Service at the Messianic Congregation “King Glory Jerusalem”

On December 27, the King of Glory Jerusalem Congregation held a special Hanukkah celebration service. The event brought together believers from various cities across Israel to praise God, commemorate the miracle of Hanukkah, and reflect on how the light of God’s truth can transform lives.

The festive service began with a warm welcome and prayer. Following this, the worship team, led by Pastor Vladimir Semionidi from Be’er Sheva, took the stage. Their heartfelt songs created an atmosphere of worship, reminding everyone present of God’s greatness and His light that overcomes darkness.

Pastor Wayne Hilsden delivered the keynote message titled “Light in Darkness: Lessons from Daniel and Hanukkah.” In his sermon, he retold the Hanukkah story, focusing on the courage of the Maccabee family, who, despite facing a powerful enemy, remained faithful to God and achieved victory. He emphasized that the miracle of the oil burning for eight days became a profound symbol of God’s presence and protection. Pastor Wayne also pointed out that as darkness in the world grows stronger in the end times, the light of believers will shine even brighter.

In his message, Pastor Wayne highlighted three key principles for achieving victory in spiritual warfare, based on Daniel 11:32:

  1. Know God deeply – through prayer, studying Scripture, and worship.
  2. Stand firm in difficult times – be strong as warriors and hold fast to your faith.
  3. Take action for God’s Kingdom – demonstrate God’s love by serving others.

He encouraged the congregation to be light in the darkness, reminding them that even a small light can illuminate an entire room. Pastor Wayne also provided practical steps for believers: dedicate time to daily prayer and Bible reading, help those in need, share your faith, and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you.

Pastors Roman Samoilovich and Oren Lev Ari also shared brief messages and led prayers for both those attending the service and viewers watching the live stream.

The evening concluded with a communal prayer and the lighting of the Hanukkiah – a symbol of the miracle that took place centuries ago but continues to inspire believers today. Participants expressed joy and gratitude for the opportunity to celebrate this special day together.

The Hanukkah celebration at the King of Great Glory Congregation was not only a time to remember past miracles but also a powerful reminder that the light of God’s love and truth continues to shine in believers’ hearts, illuminating the path to Him.
